Join the Yale Bird-Friendly Building Initiative for a walking tour to learn about Yale University’s efforts to create a bird-safe campus. Glass collisions kill up to 1 billion birds every year in North America—deaths that are preventable. Learn about Yale’s multi-year research project to document bird collisions and campus planning policies aimed at supporting biodiversity and thriving ecosystems.
The tour will be led by Kristof Zyskowski, Ornithology Collections Manager at the Yale Peabody Museum; Cathy Jackson, Director of Planning Administration at the Yale Office of Facilities; and Jill McSorley, Director of Facilities Operations at Yale School of Management. The tour will begin outside Yale School of Management, Evans Hall, 165 Whitney Ave., and proceed to the Peabody Museum, Rozenkranz Hall, Luce Hall, and the Department of Economics building.
The event is free and open to the public.
The Yale Bird-Friendly Building Initiative is a collaboration of the Law, Ethics & Animals Program at Yale Law School, the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History, the Yale Office of Sustainability, and American Bird Conservancy.
